Ramakrishnan Parthasarathy

Practice statement

Ramakrishnan Parthasarathy is the Principal Technical Advisor for patent preparation and prosecution work at the firm’s Mountain View and Bangalore offices. His patent experience and expertise extends across all aspects of electrical engineering, applied physics, mechanical engineering, computer science and business methods. Prior to joining Raj Abhyanker P.C., Ramakrishnan worked as a patent engineer for the intellectual property law firm, Osha Liang LLP, in Houston, TX, where he assisted with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of computer systems, semiconductors, photonics, VLSI circuits, compressors and consumer electronics. He obtained his Ph.D. in electrical engineering (applied electrophysics division) from the University of Virginia, where his groundbreaking research on extending the capabilities of terahertz spectroscopy earned him a nomination for the prestigious Louis T. Rader Graduate Research Award. Ramakrishnan’s research work has been published in some of the best scientific journals such as Physical Review Letters and Applied Physics Letters. In addition, he has given invited talks at institutions such as Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (Chennai), and Virginia Commonwealth University.
