Description:

(1) - Association services, namely serving and protecting the interests of the members of the association by promoting the integrity and honour of the dental profession, advancing the scientific, educational, professional, and economic interests of the dentists of british columbia, promoting and facilitating mentorship relations between dentists, preparing and distributing fee guides and negotiating fee schedules with government bodies, collecting and preserving archives and artifacts of the association, and recognizing outstanding contributions and service to the dental profession by awarding recognition and honours to dentists and non-dentists in the fields of dental health and dentistry; association services, namely, serving the public interest in the delivery of dental services by advancing the art and science of dentistry, promoting public awareness of the benefits of oral health and the oral health services provided by dentists, facilitating and promoting public access to dental care, developing and promoting quality standards for services provided by dentists and dental professionals, promoting and facilitating relations between dentists and their patients, public education and advocacy of the dental profession in british columbia, and liaising with government, insurance providers, health care providers and other stakeholders regarding the delivery of oral care services to patients; association services, namely representing the interests of dentists and other dental professionals; promoting public awareness of the importance of oral health care; participating in promotional activities related to enhancing the value of dentistry, namely compilation, production and dissemination of brochures, newsletters, pamphlets and printed wall charts in the field of dentistry, focused on helping dentists meet their clinical and professional responsibilities; providing advice and assistance to members of the dental profession and their patients about third party dental benefit programs and dental insurance based on a comparative analysis of such programs and insurance, and to provide assistance for enrolling in and purchasing dental insurance and dental benefit coverage; monitoring and providing advice about insurance claims performance measures of the dental benefit programs for others; providing technical expertise featuring business strategies regarding the relationship of dentists and patients to dental plan administrators and third party carriers
