Description:

(1) - Provision of consultation, co-ordination and support to member associations in the areas of association management, organization development, program development, co-operation for development, financial development, communications and information and the facilitation and provision of social services in association with member associations in the areas of housing, adult education and recreation, children and youth education and recreation, parent and pre-school education, camping, day care, fitness, aquatics, employment training, women's support groups and the elimination of social injustice in Canada and internationally through meetings, workshops and seminars, communication with municipal, provincial and federal levels of government and other persons and participation in international exchange and other programs; promoting programs, services, events and workshops namely conferences, seminars and presentations, forums, marches and rallies, concerts, shows and film screenings, training and educational sessions and workshops, contests, craft shows and demonstrations, for promoting and educating the public regarding violence prevention; resources namely providing an organizers kit namely a printed guide to assist in the planning of activities for promoting and educating the public regarding violence prevention; the provision of on-line information namely the maintenance of a website to promote and educate the public regarding violence prevention
(2) - Literacy training; life skills training and employment programs; Entertainment and education services namely providing an interactive online community for tween and teen girls about health, safety and anti-violence; Organizing, hosting and sponsoring programs, services, events and workshops namely conferences, seminars and presentations, forums, marches and rallies, concerts, shows and film screenings, training and educational sessions and workshops, contests, craft shows and demonstrations, for promoting and educating the public regarding violence prevention; resources namely providing an organizers kit namely a printed guide to assist in the planning of activities for promoting and educating the public regarding violence prevention
(3) - Programs, services, events, workshops and resources for women, girls and their children in physical, financial or emotional crisis or at imminent risk of being in physical, financial or emotional crisis, namely: housing, food and clothing; childcare and camps
(4) - Individual and group counselling; support groups; violence prevention; crisis intervention and prevention; legal assistance, legal counselling, support and information; supervised access; teenage motherhood programs; women resource centres; parenting centres; personal development and self-esteem programs; outreach programs; health and wellness; information and referral; and social advocacy on behalf of women, girls, and their children
